80-Year-Old Stole Ladder: Naugatuck Police

The witnesses advised the officers that the accused fled the area, police said.

NAUGATUCK, CT β€” A Naugatuck man is accused of stealing a ladder, police said. On March 9 at 12:36 p.m. officers responded to the area of Linden Park located at 155 North Main Street.

Officers spoke to witnesses that saw Pedro Aviz, 80, of Goodyear Avenue, take a ladder from behind a fenced in, gated, and secured construction area, police said. The witnesses advised the officers that the accused fled the area in a grey Toyota Tacoma, police said. Through the officers continued investigation, the accused was identified and arrested shortly after, police said.

Aviz was processed charged with sixth-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny.
