Abused Dog That The Naugatuck Community Rallied Around Dies

NAUGATUCK, CT — Sad news to share concerning Lucky the dog that was found severely abused late last year. Naugatuck Animal Control officials said Lucky passed away today after a recent surgery.

"We are sorry to inform our great community of the passing of Lucky," officials said.

Lucky had complications from her last surgery. Lucky was seized in an animal abuse case back in November 2019 and more than $6,000 was raised to help pay her medical costs.

Through her series of surgeries and recovery she was living with a loving foster family, animal control officials said.

"We are proud to have a community that helped us give her the chance," officials said. "A chance to be loved. A chance to be hugged. A chance to meet good people. A chance to lie on a couch."
