Two grants, totaling in excess of $350,000, will pay for the work, My Citizen's News reports.

NAUGATUCK, CT β Naugatuck has approved more asbestos abatement work at the Naugatuck Event Center, which is the former home of General DataComm, My Citizen's News reports.
The extra abatement work, totaling about $37,500, will be paid through a federal grant, officials said. According to Board of Mayor and Burgesses meeting minutes, grant funds were first approved back in October for asbestos abatement work at the Naugatuck Event Center. The contract was awarded to Northeast Environmental LLC, 296 Field Street, and they will also perform the additional asbestos abatement work.
And the Borough approved a contract of $322,050 "to dispose of polluted materials" that had already been removed from Parcel C and that work is being funded by a state grant, My Citizen's News reports.
