WATERBURY, CT — A dead dog was found in a garbage bag alongside a city road Monday, and police are investigating.
Sgt. Joseph Morais said the person who made the discovery was cleaning the sidewalk in the area of Progress Lane.
The individual attempted to lift a black garbage bag that was left discarded on site, according to Morais.
“Upon further inspection of the bag, the individual noticed that it contained a deceased dog,” Morais said.
Patrol officers and animal control responded to the scene.
One dog’s remains were inside the bag, according to Morais, who said the investigation is “active and open.”
Police did not release information on the dog’s breed or cause of death Tuesday.
