WATERBURY, CT — A city man suffered multiple stab wounds to his upper torso Monday during an altercation on Prospect Street, according to police.
Sgt. Joseph Morais said the 37-year-old victim arrived at a local area hospital on his own. Police said his injuries are not considered to be life-threatening, and the man is in stable condition.
Officers were on patrol Monday around 11:50 a.m. when they were made aware of a nearby disturbance involving a knife.
“The incident stemmed from a disturbance between two individuals and is considered to be an isolated incident,” police said.
Following an investigation, police arrested Shyquan Savoy, 25, of Waterbury, and charged him with first-degree assault.
Savoy was held overnight on a $500,000 bond, and he is due to appear in Superior Court in Waterbury Tuesday.
