1. CT 'Nickel Per Nip' Program: How Much Did Naugatuck Get? (patch.com) — Naugatuck residents generated more than 575,000 nip bottle sales in six months, sending nearly $28,800 into the borough’s coffers through Connecticut’s Nickel-Per-Nip program. Local officials can now tap this money for environmental projects such as cleanups, composting, recycling staff, or street sweepers, as the statewide initiative has surpassed $22 million in payouts since 2021.

Naugatuck Police Announce Officer Of The Year (patch.com) — Naugatuck police are honoring Detective John Williams as Officer of the Year, recognizing a 42-year career that now serves local residents. After decades with Middletown and Meriden, including SWAT and community policing work, Williams has been a Naugatuck detective since 2022 and is active on the department’s Honor Guard.
