WATERBURY, CT — Three local teenagers have been arrested in connection with the murder of a Hartford man earlier this month.
Sgt. Joseph Morais said the arrests stem from the murder of 20-year-old Daniel Peart on May 6.
Police received a report about shots fired and a gunshot victim around 3:14 a.m. on Easton Avenue. When they arrived, they found Peart dead with a gunshot wound to the head, according to Morais.
The youngest of the three arrested teens, Saron Mckenna, 17, is charged with murder, first-degree reckless endangerment, illegal transfer/purchase of a pistol/revolver, illegal discharge of a firearm, criminal use of a weapon, and carrying a pistol without a permit.
Mckenna was initially presented in juvenile court, but his case was transferred to adult court, and he was arraigned Thursday. He is being held on a $3 million bond.
Two others, Lucas Henry, 19, and Tyquise Kinnel, 18, were both charged with first-degree assault and second-degree breach of peace.
Kinnel was presented at court on May 7 on a $500,000 bond, and he is due back in Superior Court in Waterbury on July 6. Henry appeared in court on May 21 on a $200,000 bond, and his case was continued to June 25. They also remained in custody as of Thursday afternoon.
