Road, Route 8 Ramps Closed In Naugatuck: FD

NAUGATUCK, CT — A road in Naugatuck is closed Thursday morning, according to the Naugatuck Fire Department.

In a Facebook post around 9:30 a.m., fire officials said North Main Street at Cumberland Farms, as well as the entrance and exit ramps for Route 8, are closed due to an "accidental discharge of the fire suppression system."

According to fire officials, the product is non-toxic, however it is slightly corrosive.

Connecticut Department of Energy & Environmental Protection crews and a cleanup contractor are on their way to the area, according to fire officials.
