WATERBURY, CT — An 18-year-old dirt bike operator was critically injured in a crash with an SUV on Wednesday afternoon, police said.
Sgt. Joseph Morais said the accident happened around 4:16 p.m. on Thomaston Avenue.
Police said the teen, a Waterbury resident, sustained serious, life-threatening injuries to multiple areas of his body, including his head.
As of mid-day Thursday, the teen was hospitalized and listed in critical condition, according to police.
The driver of the SUV and its passengers sustained minor injuries, Morais said.
The police department's Crash Reconstruction Unit (CRU) is investigating the accident.
