Man Accused Of Firing Gun During Argument In Naugatuck: Police

NAUGATUCK, CT — A man accused of firing a gun into the ground outside a Naugatuck home during an argument was arrested Monday, according to the Naugatuck Police Department.

In a news release, police said officers were called to the area of Krodel Road around 5 p.m. after receiving a report of a possible argument and gunfire.

According to police, officers determined Kevin Eldridge, 70, of Naugatuck, had been involved in a verbal argument with household members and discharged a handgun several times into the ground outside the home.

Police said Eldridge had been disarmed by household members and left the area on foot before officers arrived.

Officers found Eldridge a short time later in the area of the Larkin Bridle Trail, where he was arrested, according to police.

Eldridge was charged with illegal discharge of firearm, first-degree reckless endangerment, second-degree breach of peace, criminal attempt at cruelty to animals and fourth-degree criminal mischief.

Eldridge was held on a $500,000 surety bond and arraigned in court Tuesday, according to police.
