Fire Breaks Out At Multi-Family Home, 12 Displaced: Naugatuck FD

NAUGATUCK, CT — Twelve people were displaced by a fire that broke out at a multi-family home in Naugatuck over the weekend, according to the Naugatuck Fire Department.

In a news release posted to Facebook, fire officials said the blaze was reported Saturday around 1:30 p.m. at a multi-family building on High Street.

When crews arrived in the area, they reported smoke showing from the front of the building on the second floor, fire officials said.

Firefighters entered the home and found everyone was out of the building, fire officials said.

The fire was contained to the second floor apartment, however water and smoke damage was reported throughout the building, according to fire officials.

The American Red Cross assisted 12 displaced residents, fire officials said.

Naugatuck EMS crews treated and took one person to a hospital, according to fire officials.

Prospect and Middlebury fire departments provided assistance, fire officials said.
