Auction Planned For Former Peter Paul Hershey Property in Naugatuck
The auction may mean there is some interest in redeveloping the property.

After more than seven years of sitting vacant there may actually some news to report regarding the former Peter Paul Hershey land on Route 63 at 889 new Haven Road, the Waterbury Republican-American reports.
An online auction is scheduled for September 25 regarding the 36-acre property, which is zoned for commercial purposed. The property has sat vacant since the former candy factory closed in 2007. At one point 250 people were employed there, and the building has since been demolished, reports Paul Singley.
At one point the owner, Hershey Corp. had sought $7.4 million for the land, but had only received offers totaling between $2 and $4 million.
