Auditions Announced for 'Romeo & Juliet' at Phoenix Stage Company
Phoenix Stage Company is holding auditions for ROMEO & JULIET in Oakville May 8 & 9, 2022

OAKVILLE - Phoenix Stage Company announces auditions for our summer production of ROMEO & JULIET by William Shakespeare. Auditions will take place on Sunday, May 8 and Monday, May 9 from 7-9 pm. All roles are open and actors of all experience levels and ethnic backgrounds are encouraged to attend. We are seeking 15 Men, 4 Women & 6-10 either gender
The production is being directed by John Long with Stage Manager Teresa Alexandru. Stage Combat directors Rob Richnavsky and Chris Pytlak complete the production team.
In preparation for these auditions, free stage combat classes (focusing on rapier combat) will be offered at the theater on Saturdays from 12-2pm beginning on Saturday, April 9th.
Phoenix Stage Company is an inclusive community theater. We are a 100% volunteer company; no actor stipends are available.
Production dates are July 16 - 30, Fridays & Saturdays at 8pm, Sundays at 3pm. You must be available for all performance dates and Tech week rehearsals (July 10-14) to be offered a role in the production.

An age-old vendetta between two powerful families erupts into bloodshed. A group of masked Montagues risk further conflict by gatecrashing a Capulet party. A young lovesick Romeo Montague falls instantly in love with Juliet Capulet, who is due to marry her father’s choice, the County Paris. With the help of Juliet’s nurse, the women arrange for the couple to marry the next day, but Romeo’s attempt to halt a street fight leads to the death of Juliet’s own cousin, Tybalt, for which Romeo is banished.
