Good Afternoon,

Today is Saturday, August 8 day five of Storm Isaias. At this time in Naugatuck, we have 1,420 power outages, down from yesterday's number of 2,356. Eversource was here yesterday with a large number of crews and they made substantial progress. At this time, Eversource is here working on numerous locations. Here's what you need to understand when it comes to Eversource. Linemen are all hard-working good guys doing what they're told. Do not give them a hard time. Praise them, embrace them, nurture them. Bring them water. Save all of your wrath for management.

Our town crews at all levels are doing their best to move forward as quickly as possible. We've been told by Eversource, that they hope to reduce the number in Naugatuck, from our current number to about 600 today. The remaining homes will take a little bit longer. We will do everything we can to get to the end as quickly as possible. Remember, wires that remain down should be considered to be live. Let's all be safe. Remember, the linemen are now working hand in hand with our excellent town crews. Let's show our out of state visitors, Naugy hospitality. So, let's remain Naugy strong and Naugy smart, and let's help out those linesmen.
