Back To School: Naugatuck 2026-27 School Calendar

NAUGATUCK, CT — Summer is starting to wind down as the first day of school in Naugatuck is quickly approaching.

Students will return to the classroom in Naugatuck on Wednesday, Aug. 26.

Heading into the upcoming school year, some dates are subject to change. View the full calendar for school closures, early dismissals and other event dates.

Here is a list of dates to know for this school year, according to the 2026-2027 district calendar:

• Aug. 24: Convocation.
• Aug. 24-25: Professional development; no school for students.
• Aug. 26: First day of school.
• Sept. 7: Labor Day; no school.
• Sept. 8: Middle school open house; early dismissal for grades 7-8 only.
• Sept. 15: Elementary school open house; early dismissal for grades K-4 only.
• Sept. 17: Intermediate school open house; early dismissal for grades 5-6 only.
• Sept. 22: High school and ECE open house; early dismissal for pre-K and grades 9-12 only.
• Sept. 23: Professional development; early dismissal.
• Oct. 12: No school.
• Oct. 14-16: Parent conferences; early dismissal for pre-K-12.
• Nov. 3: Professional development; no school for students.
• Nov. 11: Veterans Day; no school.
• Nov. 25: Early dismissal.
• Nov. 26-27: Thanksgiving break; no school.
• Dec. 23: Early dismissal.
• Dec. 24-Jan. 1: Winter break; no school.

If schools are closed due to weather, additional days may be added to the end of the school year.
