Black-owned Children's Book Brand Offers Advice for Black History

The team at A Kids Book About would like everyone to think differently about Black History Month this year.

The team at A Kids Book About would like everyone to think differently about Black History Month this year.

While the Black-owned children's publishing and media brand values the exciting media coverage featuring Black authors, artists, influencers, politicians, and thought leaders that are shared every February with a focus on diversity, the team wants to encourage normalizing featuring Black and Brown voices covering topics that go beyond diversity and inclusion, that go beyond Black history and experience. They encourage the sharing of topics and conversation from Black voices on a wide variety of everyday topics like climate change, health, family life, and so much more. They strive to see an expansion in Black representation in content for children, so that kids can connect to the voice and experience of Black leaders and experts in all topics.

To help encourage a connection to Black voices in books, the brand created a special nonfiction book bundle that highlights important topics from Black authors covering focuses like climate change, adoption, divorce, emotions, gratitude, belonging, empathy, suicide and more. The bundle, featuring 13 books by Black authors, is currently available for $195 here: https://akidsbookabout.com/products/black-history-month-bundle
