Board of Education Member Aaron McCool Resigns His Position [UPDATED]
The statement from his lawyer, David A. Esposito, was shared and authorized for release late Wednesday.

The Republican Town Committee posted this statement on Thursday.
After being alerted to some disturbing posts from Mr. McCool's past social media account, our executive committee began its own internal investigation into the allegations. Enough evidence was provided along with Mr. McCool's own admission that we felt it was best for him to resign his positions.

In addition to his resignation from the Board of Education, Mr. McCool's resignation from the town committee was tendered yesterday, effective immediately.

Naugatuck - In a press release from the office of Daniel A. Esposito, Esq., Attorney and Counselor of Law, LLC of Woodbridge, it was announced that Aaron McCool "has made the difficult decision to resign his position with the Naugatuck Board of Education."
The statement was authorized for release late Wednesday.
The complete text of the press release reads:
"Mr. McCool's mission has always been to zealously represent his constituency; it is their needs that are his highest priority. Consistent with that mission, and with his constituency in mind, Mr. McCool has made the difficult decision to resign his position with the Naugatuck Board of Education. Authorized for release this 29th day of June, 2022 by David A. Esposito, Esq."

A change.org petition started by the DEI Education Subcommittee received 1,157 signatures prior to his resignation.
According to information from the Naugatuck Public Schools website, McCool is self-employed and lists two years as a Naugatuck resident. He holds a BS in Communication from SCSU and has one daughter.
