Avenue Q Coming to Post University
This show will be free to patrons seventeen and older.

Last April I attended a wonderful performance of Little Shop of Horrors presented the Post Theatrical Players in the cafeteria at Post University. Many Post students made up the cast and many roles were double cast. I saw the small advertisement in the newspaper and e-mailed Bob Tansley, the director, as instructed for a place on the list. There was no charge to attend; the cast think of the shows as community service.
After I found the correct building on the campus (where I saw all the parked cars,) I followed the crowd and posted signs to the cafe. I can't say that I had ever been in the cafeteria before, but it appeared to have been transformed for the show. The band sat in single file along one of the walls and I chose a seat right next to them. It was here that I noticed a young lady sitting next to the keyboard player who sang along with many of the songs. Dream job, I thought. I really enjoyed the show. The performers did an excellent job and the puppet Audrey II grew as the show went on and was very impressive.
Earlier this year director Mr. Tansley told me that he had chosen the musical Avenue Q and once again it will presented free to the community. I was so excited to hear that I will have a chance to see this unique musical. When it was done on Broadway, puppeteer/actor was one of the stars. The Post cast has been rehearsing since December with practice puppets, but on show days the puppeteers will appear with their Muppet-like castmates who even changes costumes during the show.
