COUNTDOWN FOR 19th ANNUAL POND SKIM EVENT AT CAMELBACK RESORT BEING HELD ON SATURDAY, MARCH 16


Year-round Camelback Resort says adieu to its exciting and memorable 60th anniversary ski and snow season and welcomes spring skiing and riding with its annual Pond Skim Event – filled with finesse, humor, photo ops galore and a favorite after-party for skim competitors, their families and event attendees of all ages.

The Pond Skim competition is free and open to participants 18 years or older with lift tickets and their camera-ready supporters and fans. The challenge is to skim across the 90-foot pond at the base of Sunbowl via skis (no poles), snowboards and floaties to see who can show off the most impressive jumps and major splashes to get to the other side of the pond. Wacky and creative costumes are encouraged and will be awarded.

Prizes will be given for “Best Skim”, “Best Splash” and “Best Costume”. Each winner will receive a custom-designed vinyl-wrapped snowboard trophy and the new Peak to Peak Poconos Pass that gives passholders added-value admission discounts and pass perks at both Camelback Resort and Blue Mountain Resort for the remaining 2024 season and the 2024-2025 winter and spring season.

Saturday, March 16, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
10 a.m. Free registration opens at the base of Sunbowl for participants 18 years and older who have eligible lift tickets.
11 a.m. Participants line up and start the Pond Skim competition.
12:30 p.m. Pond Skim ends.
2 p.m. After-party begins at the Thirsty Camel with DJ Highland on deck. Winners are announced. Yummy bites are available.
