New Black Bear 6 High-Speed Lift to Debut

On Friday, December 16, Camelback Resort officially opens for the anticipated 2022/2023 ski season. It’s the resort’s 59th ski anniversary, and the opening will include a special ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Black Bear 6, a high speed six-person lift that can move up to 3,000 skiers/snow boarders per hour – enabling less wait time for snow enthusiasts and more incredible snow time!

The ribbon cutting starts at 8 a.m. and will include brief remarks from Tim Bayer, vice president of facilities for Camelback Resort. Coffee and cookies will be served, and a DJ will be on hand mixing tunes.

The first chair ride on the new lift will go up just before 9 a.m. with special guests. All other lifts will start spinning at 9 a.m. – the official opening of the season.

Targeted slopes and trails opening on December 16 are Sunbowl, Oak Grove, Turkey Trot, Coolmoor, The Hump, John Bailey, Sullivan’s Trail, King Tut, Meadows, Asp and Upper Ramble.
