Catalytic Converter Theft Reported In Naugatuck: Police

Police said a Naugatuck resident saw two people looking at a car in their driveway, one of which was under the vehicle with a power saw.

NAUGATUCK, CT β€” A catalytic converter was reported stolen from a vehicle parked at a Mulberry Street home early Thursday morning, according to police.

In a news release posted to Facebook, police said the homeowner contacted officers after receiving a Ring camera alert showing two people looking at a vehicle in their driveway, one of which was underneath the vehicle with a power saw running.

The suspects fled the area after noticing the homeowner was awake, police said.

"We ask the public to immediately call police for any suspicious vehicles or persons and do not confront the suspects," police said on Facebook. "Police have seen an increase in incidents where these suspects are armed and are continually becoming more brazen."
