NAUGATUCK, CT — Beginning Monday, Church Street in Naugatuck will permanently become a one-way road, with traffic flowing north to south, according to police officials.

The north to south flow will go from Maple Street to Rubber Avenue, and a policw officer will be stationed on Church Street Monday "to ensure an easy transition, and the safety of the drivers and pedestrians in the area."

"It is the hope of the Naugatuck Police Department, along with the Naugatuck Street Department, and community stakeholders that the one-way traffic will not only improve the traffic flow, but also allow for safer pedestrian traffic to and from the many thriving businesses in our growing downtown area," officials said.
