As a town, we are holding our own, our numbers are stable, our frontline workers continue to make us all proud, they battle on every day without the hint of a complaint. We are also very proud of our citizens, as we band together to stay safe and help others who need our assistance. We are encouraged by those who are arranging toy drives, food banks, participating in Christmas parades, Christmas dinner at St Michael's church, as well as those who are going way beyond the call of duty and decorating their homes. This is what Naugatuck is all about.
At unified command, we're continually getting questions about the vaccine. Our healthcare workers and other frontline responders are currently receiving it, the state and the federal government continue to refine and modify the overall plan. At unified command, we are ready to proceed under all scenarios. Our goal is to ensure that everyone who wants the vaccine will be able to receive it at the earliest possible time.

This has been a challenging year. The challenges continue as we approach a major storm on Christmas Day. It appears that we are being sent a message to lay low for the holidays. Let's all use this time to reconnect with friends and family virtually or other creative ways. Let's continue to do all we can to help our neighbors. Let's use this time to rekindle the true meaning of Christmas.
We've also gotten quite a few questions today from kids about the pending storm, and whether Santa can make it. Know this, our street department is ready to go. Chief Russell, Chief Hunt and I have spent the last two hours talking with NORAD and we know that Santa will be here on time in Naugatuck. Happy Holidays stay healthy and always be Naugy Strong.
Thank you
Pete Hess
