Coffee Shop In Waterbury Temporarily Closes Due To Death In Family

The business will be closed "until further notice," according to an announcement.

WATERBURY, CT — A local coffee shop, Common Grounds Bistro, announced Wednesday it is temporarily closing because of a death in the family.

The business, which is at 119 Windsor St., said on its Facebook page the closure is “until further notice due to the passing of my mother.”

“This is an incredibly difficult time for our family, and we kindly ask for your understanding, patience and prayers as we take the time to grieve and be together,” the announcement said.

The business, which is owned by Yelena Talamelli, indicated it will post another announcement once it is ready to reopen.

Customers and community members have posted several messages of sympathy following the announcement.

Gina Tartaglia wrote, “My deepest condolences to you and your family. Please know our thoughts and prayers are with you during this sad, difficult time.”
