Connecticut Critics Circle Looks to Expand Membership

The CCC is currently looking to expand their membership by restructuring requirements to make it easier for those whose work is published on the web and electronic media, and/or presented on radio and cable, to become part of the group.

The CCC will offer a provisional membership for those who might not meet the following requirements; provisional members would have a year to fulfill the requirements and demonstrate a commitment to review multiple theaters and multiple productions.

The new guidelines state:

1. Membership in the organization is open to broadcasters, writers, and individuals whose work is published on the web and electronic media, and presented on radio and cable and who regularly review Actors’ Equity contract theaters in Connecticut.

2. Potential members:

a) must submit a minimum of six written reviews (or their links) from five different theaters published/posted during the last season or

b) must submit links to six broadcasted programs during the past season where CT theater is discussed/reviewed or

c) that cannot adhere to a) or b) must submit the name of their broadcasting/publishing outlet along with summaries of a minimum of 6 programs that revolved around CT theater

Dues have been suspended for the year.
