Real Art Ways presents its monthly social event, Creative Cocktail Hour on Thursday, October 19, 6-10pm. Creative Cocktail Hour is a celebration of creativity and community in Hartford. Everyone is welcome. Held on the third Thursday of every month at Real Art Ways. 56 Arbor Street, Hartford, Connecticut.

In October, Creative Cocktail Hour will feature a creative mix of musicians, artists and exhibition openings, and things to do, including:

Music from Connecticut based DJ Kasey Cortez, is a multidisciplinary artist currently working in music, theatre, photography, design, fashion, & installation art.
Authentic Guyanese food from Rolling Roti.
Hands-on art making activities for young and old alike.

Visitors will experience three exhibitions and one opening:
sub-marine: Jeweler of Memory by Simon Benjamin. Using the sea and coastal space as frameworks, this exhibition explores how lesser-known histories and colonial legacies have an impact on our present and contribute to an interconnected future. Simon Benjmain is a recipient of a 2022 Real Art Award. Opening reception from 6-8pm.

Ayiti, I Saw It In A Dream by Steven Baboun. This photographic exhibition spotlights the diversity and complexities of Haitian identity and communities. Steven Baboun is a recipient of a 2022 Real Art Award.

El Disco Es Cultura by Adrian Martinez Chavez. This exhibition focuses on labor, love, celebration, and migration, and what it looks, sounds, and feels like to experience Mexican culture in the Northeast of the United States, using images of his father in his family's restaurant, Monte Alban Restaurant, in Hartford. Adrian Martinez Chavez is a recipient of a 2022 Real Art Award.

Tickets for Creative Cocktail Hour are $15 general admission, free for Real Art Ways members. Tickets can be purchased online or at the door.
