Police said the high school is in lockdown due to an active criminal investigation, however there is no threat to the students.

NAUGATUCK, CT — Naugatuck High School is in lockdown Wednesday afternoon due to an active criminal investigation at the school, according to police.

Police said around 2:30 p.m. on Facebook the investigation at the school "is being taken seriously," however there is no threat to the students.

Residents are asked to avoid the area at this time.
