NAUGATUCK - The Naugatuck Public Schools were honored to host U.S. Rep. Rosa DeLauro and Connecticut Department of Agriculture Commissioner Bryan P. Hurlburt at Andrew Avenue Elementary as they announced the CT Grown for CT Kids Grant Program.

As part of the program, all 300 of the third grade students in Naugatuck will be making connections between farming and food when they go on a field trip to a local farm next year.

Each class will also have a hydroponic garden right in their classroom where kids can grow their own veggies from seed to harvest.
