CT State Trooper Killed In Motor Vehicle Accident
State Police on Sunday morning said one of their trooper's was killed in an off-duty motor vehicle accident late Saturday.

WOLCOTT, CT — Connecticut State Police are mourning the death of Trooper Danielle Miller, who was killed in a motor vehicle accident Saturday night. Miller was off-duty at the time of the accident, which occurred just before 9 p.m. on Wolcott Street or Route 69 near Tosun Road.
"It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Tpr Danielle Miller as a result of injuries sustained from an off-duty crash in Wolcott. Tpr Miller of Troop L-Litchfield graduated w/the 124th TT on 12/11/14. We are grateful for her service.Thoughts & prayers are w/her family," State Police said Sunday morning.
At 8:48 PM Wolcott Police responded to a serious injury, two car head-on collision on Wolcott St (Route 69), police said. The collision involved a Connecticut State Police Ford Crown Victoria Cruiser which was being operated by an off-duty Trooper, Miller, and a 2004 Ford pick-up. Both vehicles were occupied by the drivers only and both were transported to local hospitals for injuries sustained in the crash, police said at the time of the accident.

The operator of the Ford Pickup was identified as Aric Rivkin, 30, of Wolcott, who sustained non-life threatening injuries in the crash and was treated and released early Sunday morning, police said.
The crash is being investigated by the Regional Naugatuck Valley Collision Investigation Team consisting of officers from Wolcott, Cheshire, Middlebury, Naugatuck, and Watertown Police Departments. Route 69 between Sharon Road in Waterbury and Nichols Road in Wolcott is expected to remain closed for several hours while the investigation is conducted, police said.
