Former Waterbury Mayoral candidate Dawn Maiorano has announced that she will be undertaking a new journey, this time as a radio talk show host on 1320AM WATR.
Maiorano made the announcement during the “Mornings with Chris and Allison” program on Friday. The new talk show, to be called “Brass City Beat,” will air every Friday morning at 10 a.m.

The former candidate, who lost the four-way election to Democrat Paul K. Pernerewski, Jr. by 571 votes, will host the hour-long program from the Waterbury radio studio. She plans to invite live guests to appear on her program and to take calls on the air.
Maiorano had made frequent appearances on WATR during her campaign and plans to offer her opinions on local political issues. After she conceded the election to Pernerewski, Maiorano promised Waterbury citizens that she is “not going away,” and plans to keep her eye on what is going on in her beloved Brass City.

Mayor Pernerewski will continue the monthly mayor’s hour that airs on the first Thursday of the month on WATR. He occasionally filled in the monthly program for his predecessor Mayor O’Leary, and hosted his first show as mayor on Thursday.
The new talk show host appealed to Christopher Fortier to find her some hard hitting music to serve as her theme song.
The Republican-American ran an article by Livi Stanford about Maiorano’s plans to continue to “be part of the political landscape” in Waterbury on Dec. 30.
