Decision Made On Classes At Naugatuck Public Schools For Feb. 24

A major snowstorm impacted the region from Sunday, Feb. 22, into the afternoon on Monday, Feb. 23.

NAUGATUCK, CT — Naugatuck Public Schools will be closed Tuesday following a major snowstorm that impacted the region Sunday into Monday afternoon, the district announced Monday evening.

According to the district's Facebook page, all NPS schools will be closed Feb. 24 "due to the winter storm and the timing of the snowfall ending."

"Although the snow is expected to taper off later [Monday], the timing does not allow adequate opportunity for our teams to properly clear, treat and prepare school grounds and surrounding areas," district officials wrote on Facebook. "Our priority remains ensuring safe travel conditions and safe, accessible campuses at each of our schools."
