Defying Gravity: the Creative Career of Stephen Schwartz, from Godspell to Wicked

Defying Gravity takes readers into the creative world of Broadway and film composer Stephen Schwartz, from writing Godspell's score at age 23 through the making of the megahit musical Wicked.
When twenty-three-year-old Stephen Schwartz wrote the score for Godspell in 1971, he launched a legendary career in musical theatre and film that included the blockbuster Broadway hits Pippin, The Magic Show, and Wicked. The Academy Award-winning songwriter also wrote lyrics for three Disney movies (Pocahontas, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and Enchanted), as well as original songs for the DreamWorks feature The Prince of Egypt.
