Developer's Bid For Multi-Family Building In Naugatuck On Hold

NAUGATUCK, CT — A developer's bid to construct a four-unit multi family building at 641 High Street is postponed. The applicant is AFP & Sons Construction, LLC.

Ed Carter, ZEO explained to the commission that AFP & Sons withdrew their application at this time. He spoke with Mr. Pereira, of Prospect, before the meeting and explained the commission will need to close the public hearing and therefore is recommended that he withdraw his application since he has not be able to get Water Pollution Control Agency approval, according to meeting minutes.

Once the public hearing is closed, the commission cannot accept any other evidence to make a decision, so without WPCA approval they cannot approve the application, meeting minutes state. Mr. Pereira missed the January WPCA meeting; he plans to attend the next WPCA meeting in February.

That meeting is not until after the February zoning meeting. Mr. Pereira can come back after he receives his approval and start the process again. Wayne Malicki asked Mr. Pereira if he agreed with this course of actions and Mr. Pereira stated he does agree.
