Developer's Subdivision Proposal Approved In Naugatuck

NAUGATUCK, CT — The Inland Wetlands Commission this month approved a subdivision request for 0 May Street, which is located at the end of Allison Avenue, Maple Hill Estates.

The Applicant is HTS Construction Inc. and it is owned by Theron Simons. The project will result in a three lot subdivision, according to meeting minutes.

"The original plan for this area was to have nine lots and an extension of the road. A detailed discussion took place on the location, the drainage and grading of the property. There will be sewer and water to the three houses. They tried to minimize exposure and excavation on the property. The closest they will come to the wetland upland review area is 71 feet with the driveway; no building will take place in the upland review area. The property is 6.86 acres and the plan is to deed 0.68 acres back to the Borough to the existing open space that backs up to this property," according to meeting minutes.

The aprons of the driveways will be paved as required; the driveways themselves will be gravel. The area is in a Water Company Aquifer area; an application was filled out and sent to the water company.
