Director of Emergency Management Appreciates Team Effort

"No one individual from #TeamNaugy has done more than the other to get us moving forward. It truly is a team effort."

Fran Dambowski posted this message on his Facebook page early Saturday morning.

Thanks to everyone who have acknowledged the efforts of our team. But, we are far from where we should be.

At the time of the Code Red message, last night at 6:55 pm Eversource had 2,356 (16.20%) Naugatuck customers without power. At 4:00 am today that number is 2.321 (15.96%). We still have a long way to go. While these numbers are heading in the right direction we recognize that for those are still without power, the numbers mean nothing. Be assured that our team will continue to work aggressively and hold Eversource management’s feet to the fire until we have 0.0% without power in Naugatuck.

Naugatuck’s entire Public Works Department continues to work around the clock, with little rest, to ensure roads are cleared as soon as Eversource assures them that it is safe to do so.

Our Fire and Police Departments continue to assess the entire Borough and keep us informed of any change in hazardous conditions as well as responding to the numerous calls for assistance that need to be addressed.

Please keep in mind that the men and women who are the "boots on the ground" for Eversource and the back-up utilities from out of state are doing their best to get us up and running. They are not the reason for the delay in restoring service.

We do appreciate all the thanks directed to our team but, we’re far from popping the corks on the champagne bottles yet.

We’re all in this together and we will do it!

Please Stay Safe and let's all reach out to give our friends & neighbors, who are still in need, a helping hand. We remain #NaugyStrong
