Expect Detours in Downtown Naugatuck

Connecticut Water Co. is replacing underground water pipes in Naugatuck.

Drivers will be detoured around Cedar Street and other downtown roads for weeks or months as the Connecticut Water Co. installs new, larger underground water pipes.

The work began last week on Cedar Streets, between Water and Church streets, and will continue today, Monday, May 13, officials said. The work is being completed by Mizzy Construction of Plainville.

Once Cedar Street is finished, work will begin on Division Street (AKA Frank Johnson Way) and Maple Street, Public Works Director Jim Stewart said. Pipe replacement on Spring Street is also scheduled for the near future, he said.
