DUI Man Left Accident Scene: Naugatuck Police
Police said they recently responded to an accident where injuries were reported.
NAUGATUCK, CT β A Naugatuck man is accused of leaving the scene of an accident and police said he was also under the influence.
At 7:38 p.m. on June 8 police responded to an evading motor vehicle accident with injuries on Andrew Avenue by Andrew Mountain Road, police said. The accused fled on foot, police said, and he was found soon thereafter.
"Through the officersβ investigation the accused was found to be operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and or drugs with a suspended license," police said in a report. "The accused also tried to evade a motor vehicle accident by leaving the scene along with other charges."

John Piotrowski, 53, of Perock Lane, is charged with DUI, evading responsibility and first-degree reckless endangerment. He was initially held in lieu of a $20,000 bond.
