The resilience of John and his team has uncovered the life stories and the determination and courage of enslaved African American ancestors. Those discoveries have served as the catalyst for dozens of projects, lectures, interviews and ongoing dialogue.

John last year had a leading hand in the development of a mural celebrating the life of Fortune at the North End Recreation Center in Waterbury and, this past week, the ceremonial naming of a Middletown street for the once-enslaved Prince Mortimer. There's more to come.
