Eemax® Celebrates Global Handwashing Day with its "Heart of Comfort" Handwashing Portable Station Donation to Waterbury Public Schools

Waterbury, CT- Headquartered in Waterbury, Eemax, is donating ten of its new Handwashing Portable Stations to Waterbury Public Schools to help provide students access to safe and effective handwashing while at school, as part of its “Heart of Comfort” program. The City of Waterbury and WPS are extremely grateful for the company’s generous donation and its support of the District’s deep commitment to continue to provide a safe learning environment for our students and staff.
The Handwashing Portable Station by Eemax brings safe, comfortable handwashing to remote locations. The convenient, mobile station includes a faucet, sink and water heater, all conveniently mounted on a portable cart. Please join us on Thursday, October 15 at 10:00 a.m. at Sprague Elementary School (1443 Thomaston Avenue) for a demonstration of the handwashing station and to learn more about the company’s generous donation.
“The people of Connecticut have worked hard to maintain our state’s low number of COVID-19 infections, which has enabled us to reopen our public schools earlier than many other states,” explains Vice President & General Manager of Eemax, Jens Bolleyer. “Eemax created the very first tankless electric water heater for handwashing three decades ago, and since then we’ve been refining our product line to deliver safe, comfortable handwashing solutions for residences, businesses, hospitals, first responders and food service. We’re excited to promote “Hand Hygiene for All,” the theme of this year’s Global Handwashing Day, to remind our students and community that the simple, life-saving act of handwashing with soap and water is even more important now than ever before.”

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the COVID-19 pandemic provides an important reminder that one of the most effective ways to stop the spread of germs and stay healthy is the simplest — handwashing with soap and water.
“The COVID-19 pandemic has reminded all of us that hand hygiene is a fundamental component of maintaining good health in our community,” said Mayor, Neil M. O’Leary. “In order for folks to protect themselves, and their loved ones from COVID-19, we all must reaffirm our commitment to proactive hand hygiene, and practice hand washing as frequently as possible. We’re honored to partner with a local company, Eemax, to bring safe, comfortable, and convenient handwashing solutions to Waterbury students and staff.”
“Waterbury Public Schools appreciates the support of Eemax and is grateful for their tremendous generosity. Our collaboration is invaluable as is our shared commitment to ensure the safety of our students and staff, particularly during this pandemic,” said Superintendent Verna D. Ruffin. “These handwashing stations will add another layer of safety to our schools as we continue to provide a safe and healthy learning environment for our students and staff.”
