NIGHT OUT! for Somaly Mam Foundation

Kristen Lengyel has been selected to join the SOMALY MAM FOUNDATION team for the Hamptons Half Marathon this September (please read press release below). As you may know, the Woodland for Women Worldwide organization has been raising money and awareness to help stop human trafficking through the Somaly Mam Foundation and Project Futures.

In order to meet my fundraising goals, I am hosting a "NIGHT OUT!" evening on Sunday July 15th from 4-7pm at Jesse Camille's.  This will be a night of guaranteed fun and your monies will help improve the futures of young girls--how great is that?  Bring your friends, your family, your neighbors, etc.

PRESS RELEASE:

Woodland teacher and Beacon Falls Native chosen to run in Marathon supporting Somaly Mam Foundation.

Woodland Regional High School Fine Arts teacher and Beacon Falls native, now residing in Naugatuck, Kristen Lengyel, has been chosen to run in the Hamptons Half Marathon benefit race in support of the Somaly Mam foundation. The Somaly Mam Foundation is supported by many of the teachers and students at Woodland Regional High School each year. The students and faculty, known as Woodland for Women Worldwide, hold fundraising events, which culminate in a community race at the high school. The Woodland race has been attended by Annalynne McCord, star of television’s Beverly Hills 90210, and Somaly Mam, an international leader of peace and equality who fights against human trafficking, a growing global problem.  Lengyel continues the efforts to support girls and women worldwide, the mission of Woodland for Women Worldwide, by running in the Hamptons race in the Project Futures fundraising campaign.

Ms. Lengyel teaches Photography at Woodland Regional High School.  Through her work with Woodland students and as a result of being a mother, Lengyel’s dedication to the mission of Woodland for Women Worldwide has strengthened in recent years.  “I submitted myself to the competition hoping I’d be able to represent Woodland in the continuing effort to help girls and women around the world. I feel honored to be chosen to participate.” says Lengyel. Lengyel needs to raise 2000.00 for her efforts and reaches out to the entire Beacon Falls and Prospect communities for support.

To support Kristen Lengyel in her Hampton’s Half Marathon Race benefitting the Somaly Mam Foundation and Project Futures campaign email her atkb_lengyel@yahoo.com or go to http://www.crowdrise.com/KristenLengyel
