The Union Knife company once flourished on the Fulling Milling Brook (along Route 68 heading towards Prospect). The company’s specialty was pocket knives. The company opened in 1851 but had to close after a fire in 1885 burnt the building down and the brook could no longer sustain enough water power to run the plant. This month we are welcoming Benjamin T. Timme, a Senior Geologist and cutlery expert, to come and share the history of the Union Knife Company.
Admission is free for members and $2 for nonmembers, new members always welcome. Light refreshments will be served.
