Fentanyl, Crack Seized In Route 8 Drug Stop: Police

NAUGATUCK, CT — A Rocky Hill man faces multiple drug charges after Naugatuck police said officers saw a suspected drug transaction and later stopped his vehicle on Route 8.

Police said officers saw the suspected deal involving a car at the Cumberland Farms on North Main Street at about 4 p.m. Aug. 7. The vehicle was subsequently stopped on Route 8 North near Exit 27, police said.

The driver, identified by police as 32-year-old Mark Anthony Walker of Rocky Hill, was arrested following the investigation.

Police said officers seized about 59 grams of crack cocaine, 18 grams of fentanyl packaged in 69 wax bags, about 7 grams of cocaine and 7.6 ounces of marijuana. Officers also recovered $2,683 in cash, digital scales and packaging materials, police said.

Walker was charged with three counts of possession with intent to sell, possession of marijuana and interfering with an officer, according to police.

He was released on $25,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Aug. 19.
