Fire Breaks Out At Auto Shop In Naugatuck: FD

Fire officials said the blaze involved a car in one of the auto shop's bays and heavy smoke could be seen coming from the building.

NAUGATUCK, CT — A fire broke out at an auto shop in Naugatuck early Thursday morning, according to fire officials.

In a Facebook post, fire officials said the blaze was reported around 2:30 a.m. at Autohaus, Inc. on Rubber Avenue.

When crews arrived in the area, they found heavy smoke emitting from the building, fire officials said.

The fire involved a car in one of the auto shop's bays, according to fire officials.

Beacon Hose Co. #1 and The Volunteer Fire Department of Prospect provided mutual aid while the Middlebury Fire Department and off duty Naugatuck firefighters provided station coverage, fire officials said.

The cause of the fire, which was extinguished with two hose lines, is under investigation by the fire marshal's office, according to fire officials.
