Firefighters Rescue 2 Dogs From Naugatuck House Fire: FD

Naugatuck fire officials said the blaze was located in the basement of the home.

NAUGATUCK, CT — Firefighters rescued two dogs from a house fire Monday afternoon on Auburn Street, according to fire officials.

In a news release, fire officials said the blaze was located in the basement of the home.

Firefighters removed two dogs from the home, and fire officials noted the animals "will be OK."

Beacon Hose Co. No. 1 sent crews to assist firefighters at the home and the Volunteer Fire Department of Prospect provided station coverage, officials said. Naugatuck fire police also responded to the home.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation, officials said.
