‘Get the Facts: Education and Awareness About Coronavirus’
March 5 at Thornton Wilder Hall in Hamden
HAMDEN, CT – An interdisciplinary group of faculty experts from Quinnipiac University will lead the panel discussion, “Get the Facts: Education and Awareness About Coronavirus,” from 6-7:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 5, in Thornton Wilder Hall at the Miller Memorial Central Library and Cultural Complex, 2901 Dixwell Ave. The event, co-sponsored by the Town of Hamden and Quinnipiac, is free and open to the public.

The community conversation will cover such topics as:
Signs, symptoms and treatment of the coronavirus
The difference between seasonal flu and the coronavirus
The difference between bacteria and a virus
The status of a vaccine
How to best wash your hands

How to best clean high-contact surfaces
What you can do to prepare for this illness
Where to find the most up-to-date information
How to reduce the spread of coronavirus

The panel will include Dwayne Boucaud, professor of biomedical sciences and director of graduate medical laboratory science and biomedical science programs; Dennis Brown, chair and director of physician assistant studies; Thomas Martin, director of biomedical sciences, microbiology and immunology; Sheila Molony, professor of nursing; Laura Mutrie, clinical assistant professor of social work; and W. John Thomas, professor of law. Janelle Chiasera, dean of the School of Health Sciences, will moderate the discussion.
