Get In Shape GRRL (GISG) Offers Workout with Broadway Dancers

Work out with Broadways top dancers from the comfort of your home

With Broadway shut down until 2021, what happens to those performers whose lives were built around theater? What started off as a simple Facebook Group called Get In Shape GRRL (GISG) has transformed into a mission.

When the pandemic left so many in the arts unemployed and struggling, philanthropist and Tony-winning producer Jenna Segal knew she needed to do something. GISG was born out of the simple premise that she wanted to provide performers employment, all while promoting health and fitness to people at home. For Jenna, Broadway is her life and passion. For GISG instructors, it also is their lifeline. By creating this platform, quarantined fans all across the world from their home have a front seat to their favorite shows.

With GISG, Broadway’s top dancers and choreographers welcome fans and virtual friends to join them in their daily at-home online workout sessions. No fancy expensive equipment. No feeling bad if you can't keep up (and if you want to take a seat with a glass of wine and just watch- do it! We’re all friends here.). And maybe a cat or two that joins in. This is NOT your typical intensive sweat session. Think of it like a Richard Simmons – eccentric and energetic. And that’s what it should be.

Designed for those who love the theater, GISG welcomes everyone, at their own level, and on their own schedule. We love the theater, dancing, music, and moving our bodies. Because, in the end, the show must go on.
