The Future Scholars Philosophy

Future Scholars believe in fostering the development of the whole child and strive to enhance social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth in our students. Our program encourages curiosity, creativity and self-esteem by recognizing children’s abilities and interests. The acceptance and promotion of diversity is valued and celebrated by the program. It is our goal to establish linking relationships with the children's parents, elementary schools and community to ensure that the needs of the whole child are being met.

The preschool program includes story time, journals, center time, art, music, games rest/nap time, field trips, a daily meeting and outside time. Future Scholars holds parent/teacher conferences twice each year. The first parent/teacher conference is held within the first three months of enrollment. This will be a time to check in with all families about each child's progress.

Some important policies at Future Scholars are listed on the center’s website. Parents are asked to send in an extra set of clothes to be kept in school, and send their child to school in sneakers appropriate for outdoor play. Teachers ask that lunches include an all-natural fruit juice instead of sugary drinks.

Parents are required to sign their child in or out each day, and to inform the center if anyone other than the person who registered the child will be picking up a child. This person will be required to show a license or photo ID. Parents must keep their child home for the first 24 hours of an antibiotic prescribed, as well as during any other contagious illness, and call the center when a child will be absent.

Future Scholars also request that parents/guardians keep the staff informed of any major changes in a child's life. They promote daily communication between the Center and home so they can provide the best program for the children.

Pranvera Dauti is the owner of Future Scholars and Karen Dunn is the Center’s director. Jasmina Usejnoska is the Center’s Head Teacher; Brea Borges, Ardita Sulejmani, Jetmir Dauti, and Alexandra Langhans are the Assistant Teachers.
