NAUGATUCK, CT — In response to inquiries from the public regarding the Borough’s three main grocery stores, Stop and Shop, Big Y and Walmart, Naugatuck Police have conferenced with the on-duty managers.
All three stores reported no supply chain issues and that inventories from our local stores to warehouses are just a day or two behind. There remain items which are out of stock, such as toilet paper, sanitizer, and chicken. This is expected to only be temporary.

Community leaders are in communication with management at Big Y, Stop and Shop and Walmart. The stores have assured us the food supplies will continue to be replenished to meet demand. There is no need by their own assessment to request limiting purchases of items as they will be able to keep up with demand (be it a day or two behind). Should the situation change we have already taken steps to ensure that we all can work in partnership until this situation's conclusion.
The Borough’s unified command team will continue to remain proactive in their steps to reassure the community and provide the most accurate and timely information to everyone.
