As we work through the frigid winter season and deal with sky-high utility bills, I wanted to share information with you about Operation Fuel.

The non-profit has organized a series of webinars to aid people who are seeing more of their hard-earned dollars go to pay for heat and electricity.

January 26, 6-8 p.m. - Why is Your Energy Burden So High? A Community Conversation

Are energy costs hurting your wallet, health, family, and home? How do you deal with unaffordable utility bills? What is your experience with energy insecurity? Come join the conversation with Kamora's Cultural Corner (KCC) to listen, share your story, and connect with others working hard to keep the lights and heat running this winter. KCC will livestream this event on their Facebook page.

January 27, 6:30-7:30 p.m. - A Discussion on Electricity/Heating Costs with CT Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (PURA), CT Sen. Douglas McCrory and Kamora's Cultural Corner

Operation Fuel Executive Director Brenda Watson will moderate a discussion about energy insecurity and policy solutions with Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (PURA) Chair Marissa Gillett, CT Sen. Douglas McCrory, and Kamora's Cultural Corner CEO Kamora Herrington. This event will offer CT residents an opportunity to share how families cope with cold and darkness because of high utility costs. We will also discuss protections available for low-income CT residents, and programs that help bring down utility costs. Click here to register.
