Johnna Hunt was on Facebook Live on Thursday evening sharing information about the role out of distance learning.

Naugatuck, CT - Hillside Intermediate School is ready to get Chromebooks to their kids and start this distance learning.

"A crazy yet exciting time filled with endless possibilities," posted Principal Johnna Hunt. " So thankful to our AMAZING team at Hillside and all NPS schools, who continue to go above and beyond for our students!"

This is Mrs. Hunt, the principal of Hillside School. I hope all of you are healthy and coping with all these changes. I want to reassure you that the teachers and I are busy planning for what next week and future weeks will look like.
The main Chromebook distribution times will be this Friday, March 20th.

- Grade 5 will be from 9-11 a.m. at the main entrance.
- Grade 6 will be from 12-2 p.m. using the 3rd-floor entrance.
We intend on running a “drive-through” system. Hillside Ave. will be limited to one-way traffic. Traffic will be entering from Meadow Street and moving up the brick road. When parents pull up you will need to tell us the name of your child and homeroom teacher. Please have your child’s homeroom teacher’s name ready for us as that will greatly expedite the process. At that time you will receive a bag with your child’s belongings from their locker as well as their workbooks and a sanitized Chromebook and sanitized charger. The items that are bagged were personalized to your child but not yet sanitized. When you open the bag you should wipe down all items.
If you are unable to pick up items on Friday, then we will have make-up times on Monday from 10-2 pm.
If you do not have internet access, we still want you to come to and pick up all the items. If you qualify, please apply for internet access from Comast as soon as possible. Read more about the program on our district website.
On Monday homeroom teachers will begin calling your families to explain the next steps to all of you as well as to check in with regards to if you have internet access or if you still need help getting access. In the meantime, I want to thank all of you for your patience as we all try our best to navigate during this ever-changing time.
Stay safe and be well,
Mrs. Hunt
